Motion Reel is a Claude Code skill for creating motion graphics and short videos. It can turn an interface, URL, or product into a visual sequence with pacing, transitions, text, and a soundtrack. That makes it useful for product demonstrations, launches, and social content.
How the workflow works
The skill starts by understanding the video idea. It may inspect a page, request images or screenshots, define a style guide, and propose a shot list. Reviewing the shot list is the best time to correct the message, duration, and order. Rendering comes after that review.
- Define the goal: demonstrate a feature, introduce a brand, or explain a process.
- Gather the materials: product URL, logo, images, short copy, and brand colors.
- Ask for a shot list and review it before rendering.
- Watch the first cut and adjust anything that is too fast, unclear, or off-brand.
Requirements
The repository lists Node.js 22 or newer, FFmpeg, Python, and a Chromium browser installed through Playwright. Set these up before installation to avoid a failure when you are ready to render.
Install it
Clone the repository and run its installer:
git clone https://github.com/statiiiix/motion-graphic.git
cd motion-graphic
sh install.shYou can also use the Claude Code plugin marketplace:
/plugin marketplace add statiiiix/motion-graphic
/plugin install motion-reel@motion-graphic
How to get a better video
Start with a concrete brief: “Create a 20-second video showing someone finding and submitting a quote request.” State the audience, where the video will be published, the desired format, and the action the viewer should understand. Keep each piece focused on one message.
Practical safeguards
- Confirm that you can use every image, logo, track, and testimonial before rendering.
- Read small text on a phone. A video can look good on a desktop and still be unreadable in a feed.
- Treat the first render as a draft, then review the narrative and clarity before publishing.
- Do not expose sensitive data in generated code, files, or screenshots.
